Be Positive Influences-Army Commander to Lesotho Juveniles

Juveniles rehabilitated by the Lesotho Army have been counseled to shun crime and criminality by embracing exemplary lifestyles.
This counsel was given recently by Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) Commander, Lt-Gen Mojalefa Letsoela at the end of a 3-month rehabilitation exercise for 74 youths at Makoanyane Barracks.
“The three months we spent here with you is enough to rehabilitate you. There is no need for you to walk the same path, we don’t expect you to go back to criminal activities.
“We expect you to go back to your communities and be positive influences,”
“Our primary aim is to ensure that there is peace in this country. This (Makoanyane Barracks) is not a slaughterhouse where people are killed. It is a life-saving institution where people’s lives are turned around and that is why we did what we had to do to save these children.”
Lt-Gen Letsoela called on the political class not to drag the Army into politics saying, ''“My fellow citizens, I am making a clarion call for the nation to stop using the army or the security agencies for their political ends of attacking the government. They should be attacked on the basis of their own actions, not those actions of Lieutenant General Letsoela, his command, or the entire army.
“I am saying this because there were some who plotted to attack the government. They even paid for radio programs to question our actions and that caused a lot of confusion among these children’s (juvenile delinquents’) parents. “This issue nearly made us angry but we managed to calm those who became angry and discouraged when we were assisting these children.”
“We ended up in the courts. I personally wanted to go and tell the court that I am guilty but I will continue (with the “rehabilitation”) because it is in the best interests of the nation. However, our lawyers left me behind.
“Our primary aim is to ensure that there is peace in this country. This (Makoanyane Barracks) is not a slaughterhouse where people are killed. It is a life-saving institution where people’s lives are turned around and that is why we did what we had to do to save these children,'' The Army Commander concluded.
Government Workers-A Subject of Debate

Civil and public servants in a sizable number of states in Nigeria have continued to grumble over the non-implementation of the 30,000 Naira new minimum wage.
Indeed, State Governors insist that dwindling allocations and revenues are stumbling blocks that have actively prevented the living wage from becoming a reality in the States.
This is just as a big chunk of the monthly allocations continue to drown in the pool of white elephant projects.
Most labor unions have maintained a worrisome silence on the issue, just as workers argued that self-centered interests have overwhelmed the mindset of an unspecified number of labor leaders. The workers are disappointed.
Some State Governors have now coopted the confused and disillusioned workers into revenue generation methods that are synonymous with crime, criminality, and sudden wealth.
The above mentioned among some other reasons have stimulated agitations by the workers in low tones since their acts of omission and commission are better imagined than exposed.
Sadly, mutual suspicion and distrust are the hallmarks of relationships in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
Furthermore, the questionable lifestyles of workers in the states have become subjects of debate among all and sundry in these times of excruciating economic hardships.

Namibians now spend more on food and non-alcoholic beverages as the cost of living rises unabated.
This is contained in a report by the Namibia Statistics Agency.
The report also stated that in comparison to a year ago, as of June 2021, 32% of the price increases consumers experienced are on food and non-alcoholic beverage items.
Food accounts for approximately 14,8% of consumer expenditure monthly.
However, this varies from one income group to another, with some people spending more than that on food.
The report noted that for June 2021, the annual inflation rate increased by 4,1% compared to 2,1% recorded in June 2020.
''Last month's inflation rate was the highest over the past 12 months. Year-to-date, prices of goods and services have been increasing at the rate of 3,4% on average.
On a monthly basis, the inflation rate increased by 0,5% compared to 0,3% recorded a month earlier.
The inflation rate for the food sub-category increased by 7,7% during June 2021 compared to an increase of 4,9% during the same period last year. This is way higher than the rate at which other goods' prices are increasing in the country.
Meat is the most expensive food item in Namibia, as according to NSA, “meat was 16% more expensive than a year ago, which registered 8%”. Chicken recorded the highest increase in this category at 25,2%, followed by offal at 18,2%.
On non-meat food items, rice recorded the highest inflation, as it was 18% more expensive than June last year, followed by bread at 10,5%. Prices for vegetables, including potatoes and other tubers, increased by 6,8% in June 2021 compared to 11,7% recorded in June 2020.
The slowdown was caused mainly by the drop in the prices of carrots (-21,9%), onions (-20,8%), and green pepper (-12,2%), as local production came to the rescue. Eggs recorded an upward price change of 7,2% followed by fresh milk, long-life milk at 5,6%, and cream at 3,6%,'' the report concluded.

In the religious setting, system deterioration could be attributed to the members' activities of the members of the society or the system in particular that are responsible through iniquities, transgressions, frivolities, and waywardness, and other various forms of violating the law through such unethical practices that could not be controlled by the leaders.
Sin, in this case, could be perceived as transgression especially when deliberate of a law having divine authority.
For the present trend of development in the world, Nigeria inclusive, the observation of sin as a plague bedeviling the world could equally be seen as challenges that are yet to be surmountable, hence, the present state of things across the world.
Governments in every nation today, therefore, must work on the following 7 sins :
1) Wealth without work through the restoration of the dignity of labor and ethical practices.
2) Pleasure without conscience as seen in the fraud-ridden lifestyles of young and women, wasting other people's lives.
3)Knowledge without character, manifesting in functions of education where pedagogues fall short of good conduct.
4)Commerce without morality manifesting in the way people with affluence do aid and abet corruption for people to live in abject poverty amid plenty.
5) Science without humanity wherein many products of Science and Technology are been used for destructive means.
6)Religion without sacrifice wherein the present-day religious leaders fail to go by the dictates of the Scriptures and rather embark on activities against the Scripture to acquire wealth.
7)Politics without principle.
Only the truth avails nations and this can be got through the right applications for the Corporate Governance Perception Index that facilitates ethical practices, standard, competence, transparency, and accountability through definable ideological and implementable ideological goals that would be all-encompassing in been people-focused and oriented to be able to meet up with their yearnings for the realization for their wellness.
Therefore the issue of heaven and hell is a function of people's behavior. Sin is destructive while the truth avails a nation.
Let us make a decision to be morally disciplined to be able to live exemplary lifestyles to bequeath an astounding legacy with divine authority. Refrain from sinful acts from today.

Dialogue is meaningless until a compromise must have been attained. The necessity for dialogue arises from the elements of disagreement for resolution through some analytical methods of the sources and the causes with a view of sinking differences to ensure that the aggrieved parties are satisfied with the outcome.
The element of compromise is an active component that must be visible to ensure the feasibility of harmonious resolution of disagreements.
In the cumulative law of addition and subtraction, the algebraic law plays an important role by allowing only the like terms to be added or subtracted.
When there is a violation of the law in friendship or marriage, the tendency for the elements of hatred, a disagreement that could result in rancor, and a state of instability is very high.
In any society, home, community, or nation, there is always the need for harmony. For example, every gathering-formal or informal and at every stage of human development shall experience three phases of human character: the prime overs that make the system work and achieve its goal, easily identify with leaders and the aims and objectives of the system. This is in addition to the policy with which the vision would be articulated through perfect design mission statements.
In the same system, we have a group of people who are less concerned about the goal of the organization, achieved or not achieved. This type of cluster serves as a hindrance to the prime movers and the system.
Also, there are rebellious individuals, that are threats to an organization or movement. They not only oppose the policies of the system that engage them but work against the leaders.
The first assignment, therefore, for the leader is to identify these elements to the level of their numbers and impact as well as harmonize the three above-mentioned sets of individuals, through the appropriate therapeutic treatment.
Harmony, therefore, is an accord or agreement in action or process that must be the primary worthy elements to consider at every stage of human affairs where orderliness and peaceful co-existence are Germaine to achieve in the dispensation of justice and equity for the sustainable development goal.

The purpose of every religion is to reform adherents in order that the individual would be able to live within the comfort zone of the God/man relationship to be able to be a good citizen of a society that is reliable and dependable and trustworthy with exemplary lifestyles. No religion, therefore, teaches evil. The crack in the wall of religious people usually gives room for the infiltration of satanic influences for the individual to misbehave in society as a non-scripture compliant person.
Adherents must not lose sight of their soul purification essence not to derail from obeying and hearkening to the voice of God to be able to live exemplary lifestyles.
The curriculum, therefore, to drive the vehicle of every religion is the scripture upon which such religion dynamics solely rests for the purpose of the correct assessment for appropriate judgment based on how we run our lives.
The Holy Bible Luke 18: 24-29, refers, ''And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
25For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?
27And he said The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
28Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.
29And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,''
In the same vein, the Holy Quran asserts that we must give God the almighty Allah the first place of consideration in the order of our priorities if we are to be saved. Chapter 9: 23-24 refers, '' O ye who believe! Take not for protectors your fathers and your mothers, if they love infidelity above Faith: If any of you do so, they do wrong. Say: If it is that your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your mates or you are kindred: the wealth that ye have gained; the commerce which he fears a decline: or dealings in which ye delight-are dearer to you than Allah or His messenger, or the striving in His cause;- then wait until Allah brings His decision: And Allah guides not the rebellious''.
The Holy Bible in Matthew 10: 37 corroborates the above-stated assertion. ''37He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.''
Christians and Muslims upon which the mantle of leadership falls must critically assess themselves against the backdrop of the above-stated assertion of the almighty God on the necessity to be scripture compliant in words, acts, deeds, thoughts, and body language to be able to live exemplary lifestyles.
People who can be saved are those who are scripture compliant without any form of impunity, frivolities, and waywardness.

Dedication is a measure of the degree of commitment to a cause or belief.
Assigned responsibilities may manifest in various ways connecting to different human activities. For example, in intimate relationships, the commitment of the two parties will ensure that they overcome challenges.
In the business world, several industries collapsed more due to the lack of dedication of their workers leading to the loss of goodwill due to the inability to meet up with their socio-economic goals.
Critical studies have shown that motivation is not enough for workers, except the establishment applies the principle of the Corporate Governance Index for routine checks of the accountability need of the company as well as the critical monitoring of the activities of the workers who were expected to receive living wages with a reward for hard work at the end of the year.]
For the nation to develop, all those involved in the serious business of governance should be truthful, sincere, and dedicated to duty.
Our socialization institutions, the houses of God, schools, and other training grounds must teach based on a positive mindset approach to the culture of dedication to practically realize the state of people's commitment to their value beliefs as well as to the cause of their thoughts or action and by extension must reflect in the way we go about our daily routine on assigned responsibilities where confidence reposed in us must be justified by our output.

The Central Working Committee of the Association of Civil Servants of Nigeria(ASCSN) has been called upon to reinstate the suspended National President, Deputy Secretary-General, and others it sacked.
This call was made, in a chat with Federationews2ay, by an Ex-Officio of the Oyo State Council of the Trade Union Congress(TUC), who is also a former Chairman of the union, Comrade Andrew Emelieze.
''I call on the Central Working Committee of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria(ASCSN) to immediately without delay reinstate the national President, Comrade Bol Audu suspended by the Central Working Committee, including the Deputy Secretary-General who was disengaged alongside 20 other workers of the secretariat last month. The committee should also proffer a lasting solution to the problems weighing down the association.
Give Ndigbo Opportunity to Produce Next President-Vice President Ezendigbo in Diaspora(South)

As the debate among Nigerians on the geo-political zone the next President of the country should come from in 2023, the Ezendigbo of Ibadan and Oyo state, who is also the Vice President, Ezendigbo in Diaspora(South) and the Chairman, Non-Indigenes Traditional Heads in Oyo State, Eze(Dr.) Anozie opines that the Igbos should be given the opportunity to produce the next President in 2023. Excerpts ;
Why do you think the next President of Nigeria should come from the South East?
In the interest of justice, fairness, the true unity of the country, peace, and tranquility, I suggest, I appeal, and I plead with Nigerians, all political parties in Nigeria to pick their presidential candidate from the South East. It would go a very long way to soothe frayed nerves and douse the tension in the country. I am not saying this because I am from the South East, even if I am not from the South East, I would still say this. So what I am saying is in the interest of Nigeria, the peace of the country, the unity of the country and I believe that everybody that calls himself or herself a good Christian or Muslim should support the call for the next President to come from the South East and if such happens, all the agitations here and there shall by 50 percent fizzle out. And by so doing, Igbos would like to show their stuff and what they can do. They would like to set a pace in the governance of Nigeria.
And I know that some other people who are showing interests, other Nigerians showing interests from different parts of the country may also be good materials for the position, but we are pleading with them to be considerate and look at the Igbos and all their contributions in the whole country Nigeria and give us the opportunity to lead this country. My mind is telling me, my spirit within, my God is telling me that when such happens Nigeria would begin to breathe a brand new life.
I am one of those who believe that Nigeria is a beautiful country, if justice, fair play, equity, and the security of lives and property of every Nigerian is assured for everybody to have a sense of belonging for good leadership to be put in place. To this extent, everything should be done to ensure justice, equity, and fair play. These are the only things that would make all ethnic groups want to remain in Nigeria, so by the time the South Eats has finished its tenure in governance, power should move up to the North, a part of the North from where a President has never emerged and when they finish with their tenure, power should move down to the South again and that would be the South West and so on and so forth.
And Nigerians will not accept any military coup all this while. Everything should be done to ensure that there is no military coup because Nigerians will say no.
Violent Crimes-The Position of Spectators

The consensus among Nigerians is that the arms build-up in different parts of the country has its background woven around the aspirations of actors in the socio-political scene in the land.
The arms build-up festers side by side with poverty, hunger, and brigandage, while the land has over time become fertile for trading in illegal arms with evil deeds as the major focus.
Indeed, state actors are familiar with the negative effects of injustice, inequality, nepotism, and favoritism, but are, sadly, handicapped by self-centered interests and incurable greed.
Interestingly, the competition for power and privilege has resulted in the loss of precious lives and the wanton destruction of the properties of innocent and harmless citizens. The debate among Nigerians now is on what constitutes the major functions of state actors.
The illegal influx of arms and ammunition has continued unabated through constitutional and unconstitutional channels with the active connivance of those who ought to be well-informed on security matters.
As violent crimes soar nationwide through the use of sophisticated weapons, Those-in-Charge have adopted the position of spectators to the amazement and chagrin of Nigerians.
Vigilance by Prof.Sabitu Olagoke

Vigilance is natural that phenomenon that is expected to be exhibited to live a protected lifestyle to avoid various forms of disaster from predators among animals and even insects.
This value is considered in the design of their places of abode. For example, the birds build their nests in vantage areas where they would easily perceive or smell the possible approach of enemies to be proactive in escaping or to attack.
The bees prefer to build their hives in high places where they cluster together with such division of labor that puts soldiers in strategic positions to keep watch on the colony.
Sadly, among humans vigilance is fraught with deceit and greed, thereby making an individual, family, or community to be off guard.
Vigilance therefore should be part of disciplines to be learned formally or informally to protect lives and property in addition to interests.
Ritual killers usually build their houses in isolated areas and decorate in ways that would not expose them and their heinous trade. Their agents are members of communities, who lead unsuspicious lifestyles which deceive their potential victims.
When family members organize search parties to look for their missing ones, the agents of the ritualists are also part of the search party-they observe every step by the party, and send reports to their sponsors.
Generally, people have to be very cautious and suspicious of the kind of transactions they engage in, in addition to the kind of friends they keep. For example, several people have lost their lives through food or drink poisoning from those they rely on and trust.
Our training therefore must reawaken the security consciousness in us. We should be very sensitive, alert at all times, and watchful to guard against unforeseen circumstances.
We must all individually and collectively take responsibility for the security of our homes, places of work, and communities by taking note of the people in our environment as is expected of every Landlords and Tenants association at the local level, while the security agencies should carry out their statutory responsibilities professionally within the country and at the borders.
The Worrisome Situation Today

The loyalty and commitment of the people are crucial to the success of any political system with a focused leadership.
However, the covert moral and financial support for criminals, would, without doubt, result in unabating insecurity and its attendant consequences on the political system and the economy.
The support is woven around self-centered and pecuniary interests.
The absence of cooperation on matters relating to the elimination of economic stagnation and political marginalization of the people is influenced by insensitive leadership.
This leadership seeks to tinker with the constitution and existing laws, in order to facilitate dictatorial acts of omission and commission in a bid to regulate the people's behavior while at the same time depriving them of a large volume of resources.Transfer Money with Wise
It is very glaring that a number of political blocs and ethnic persuasions have been deprived of participating in the decision-making process of the system, which has resulted in a clear case of oppression and overwhelming structural imbalance in the polity.
The issue now is the moral indignation by the people against obvious constitutional breaches, which has been misconstrued by the state actors to mean that the differences suggest that so much has changed.
The worrisome situation today is a product of the manipulation of the system, deliberate impoverishment of the people, and the negative influence of moneybags, who are now political office holders in this democracy.

Responsibility is an attribute of the culture of integrity.
Among siblings, it is the duty of the elderly ones to take care of the junior ones, otherwise, such individuals would be regarded as irresponsible.
At the level of marriage, emphasis is always centered on the expectation of a high degree of responsibility stemming from specified obligations for both partners in the marriage to have to good and happy home.
For example, the woman is regarded as responsible, if she is able to cope with the emerging challenges from the husband and the in-laws.Transfer Money with Wise
However, if she is found wanting on the issue of fidelity or keeping of her chastity, she would bring shame to her parents and she would stand to be condemned by her husband and his family.
On the part of the husband, he is expected to be the mainframe of the home he seeks to build, by taking responsibility for all the home needs.
He makes sure that all members of the family are able to actualize their economic desires.
When a man is unable to provide for his family, he would be described as irresponsible.
Collapsed buildings paint those in the building profession in a bad light. Project building, therefore, can only be successful when experts are consulted. Project handling must meet up with the demands of quality assurance while certification must equally respect a thorough and verified report of transparency in every stage of transactions and accountability. In addition, projects must be delivered within the specified date and time and must be devoid of all forms of sharp practices. When the foregoing is not taken into consideration, then the acts of omission or commission could be described as irresponsible.
Many lives have been lost in the hands of a number of health professionals as a result of their unprofessional conduct and carefree attitude which may prompt society to label them quacks.
To this end, our education curriculum, as well as our religious teachings and practices, must complement the efforts of society to ensure that children imbibe the tenets of responsibility from childhood.

Sincerity by Prof. Sabitu Olagoke

- In The People Talk
Sincerity is intensive in every human making us be enigmatic to others, who have every right to doubt our intentions until we prove not to be harmful to the situation and the society at large.
This is why in religious parlance, we do submit that we may err as human when we mistake intentions for actions because intentions are usually hidden, even when actions are the outbursts of real intentions.
There is a need to use the worth of one's sincerity in the relations ship we keep, starting from dating between two lovers, sincerity of purpose is better measured by the test of the time when it finally meets up with the desired goal by building up to the marriage level. Even though this may not be perfect as a tool of assessment, until the conditions for better or worse are maintained and sustained in the marriage, otherwise, the hidden intention of gold-digging, when uncovered may lead to the collapse of the love ridden voyage.
The sincerity of purpose is, therefore, a vital element that must be substantially present in the way we manage the integrity of our cultural setting, ethical values for our educational management, and moral discipline for our religious sector, as process line feeders to our political activities for the purpose of getting it right, when we assure positions of leadership and governance.Transfer Money with Wise
It is interesting to note that most of the gory killings through the instrument of hired assassins are borne out of truncating the sincerity of process line between two or more parties, who may resort to taking laws into their hands to seek costly vengeance over a perceived grievous height of disappointment by taking lives to settle the score.
At the educational management level, insincerity in the facility purchasing process usually leads to the dearth of experts in the needed areas and a lack of facility update to run the courses, despite the huge amount that might have been disbursed by the government, when dubious hands manage a system, economic sabotage in the name of corruption always truncates the expected due process required in purchasing materials.
Insincerity has a far-reaching effect of holding back a self, team, society, or nation, if not timely checked and curbed.
At the homefront, between the husband and wife/wives, the children rearing process would ever suffer from producing future leaders who can deliver a nation from the challenges it may face.
At the political front, insincerity could lead to a game of deceit as it relates to leadership and followership, globally. The symptoms of this may become visible starting from the composition of people who may constitute the formation if they are people of unlike minds.
as they will flout the competitive law of addition and subtraction to make policy formation uniformity difficult to be established except through the game of deceit or insincerity, but as a threat to the future stability of such political parties.
Insincerity! Insincerity! The fabric of the existence of a nation is always threatened through the culture of insincerity if the experiences of many components have folded up due to the workers' collaboration in bad practices against the will of the government or goodwill code of the Chief Executive Officer or Managing Director.
Generally, therefore, sincerity as freedom from hypocrisy and deceit must be seriously managed through organizational and professional ethics as well as the corporate governance code for the people's loyalty to the cause of the authority to be maintained and sustained as may be found to be possible in all developed nations that enjoy peace, justice and need fulfillment.

The World Bank report that 7 million Nigerians are now under the poverty line has only confirmed that there is massive poverty in Nigeria.

''The World Bank report that indicates that 7 million Nigerians have fallen below the poverty line in the last 2 years confirms the reality on the ground that there is poverty on a massive scale in Nigeria. The Public and Private Partnership trend adopted by state actors at both the State and Federal levels have sadly attracted investment in non-productive sectors: dubious estate developers, land grabbers, betting companies, hotels, petrol stations, and religious groupings with government-friendly posture and the productive sector: plastic soft drinks, sachet alcoholic stimulants, and enhancers.
The policy is yet to attract internal and external investment to the productive sector,-the creation of employment and influencing economic activities upwardly.Transfer Money with Wise
In a number of states the private sector, embarrassingly weak, while in others it is dominated by the controllers of the exploitative tendencies.
Most of these states have already achieved the status of dumping ground for HIV/AIDS drugs including the ones that have been outlawed by the World Health Organization. The number of casualties remains unreported.
Indeed, prostitution, sodomy, and homosexuality among other sexual perversions are now industries in major cities. Pickpocketing is also an industry.
PPP is now synonymous with the total abandonment of the economic welfare of the people as a legitimate function of state actors.
Petty traders who have opened shops in available spaces including residential areas have assumed the status of investors.
Indeed, politics to the people is group action, but when an individual starts to play a bigger role in a political party, then all is not well.
Interestingly, the empowerment of friends of state actors, cronies, proxies, and well-wishers, has dashed the hopes of the people to get a fair opportunity to participate in various empowerment schemes.
