True Riches by Prof. Sabitu Olagoke

Prof olagokeRiches are like a double-edged sword, wherein one side is evaluated through spiritual endowment and the other side through socio-economic achievements.
The Almighty Allah recommended due process for achieving riches.
The Holy Quran 11: 16 refers, '' There is no moving creature on earth, but its sustenance depended on Allah: He knoweth its resting place and its temporary deposit: All is in a clear record.''
The regulatory measure, therefore, is preferred as a due process of acquisition of wealth through the dignity of labor by legitimate means. If we follow this, the created social classes would have been justified through hard labor and competence, with the consequential result of promotion to get higher classes of economic and social levels.
However,  tur riches become elusive when we illegally acquire wealth without any regard for the due process of legitimate earning.
Corrupt enrichment, therefore, erodes away the spiritual endowment, making the victims wallow in the bondage of satan.
The Holy Bible, James  1: 9-11 becomes food for thought to be rightly guided on true riches from the legitimate acquisition of wealth. ''9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.''

The lesson from this is that beyond the fundamental need, luxuries must be allowed to go into the areas of services where others are in dire need to promote the principles of equity.

The Holy Quran 13: 26 refers, '' Allah doth enlarge, or grant by strict measure, the sustenance which He giveth to whom so He pleaseth. Thew worldly rejoice in the life of this world: but the life of this world is but little comfort compared to the hereafter.''
This corroborates, that for believers true riches are given by strict measure with the accompanying endowment of the Holy Spirit.
Wealth acquired, therefore,  through unjust means or injustice would have trampled upon the fundamental human rights of access of others by depleting their resources for the dubious man to live in affluence.
The almighty God, therefore, declared in the Holy Bible, Isaiah 59: 1-2, that He is all caring, saving, hearing, and seeing, and ready to answer people's requests, most especially the believers.
The Holy Quran 2: 45 refers, ''Nay seek Allah's help with patient perseverance and prayer: It is indeed hard except to those who are humble.''
Seek, therefore, for true riches through the respect for the dignity of labor and legitimate earning as a believer to be endowed by the almighty Allah with spiritual richness and tranquility of the mind, with all promises of God guaranteeing people's safety and the security of lives and properties.
