Govt. Should do More for the Youth-Head, YMCA VTC Ibadan

Government at all levels have been called upon to encourage the youth population to pursue careers in Technical and Vocational education.

This Call was Made by Mr. Niyi Fagbemi, Head of the Vocational Training Centre for PrintingTechnology(Young Mens Christian Association), Ibadan, Nigeria.

''Government at all levels should do more for the youth by encouraging them to pursue careers in Technical and Vocational education. It is better to prepare a curriculum and go through it, than to embark on crash programmes whether it is thrre or six months, to avoid turning out half baked graduates'', Mr. Fagbemi stated.

He also advisedc parents and guardians to encourage their children and wards to acquire skills that would make them self reliant adding, '' so that they would have something to fall back on''.

The centre, which is non denominational, trains the youth, mostly indigent, in Printing Technology
