Pension rights set the ethical standards of due process that would guarantee a good future for the retiree after leaving service.
A case study of Nigeria refers : if an employee retires at the age of 50 years or more, he or she can have immediate access to the Retirement Savings Account(RSA).
Similarly, if an employee retires before the age of 50 years due to mental or physical incapacitation, he or she can have easy access to the retirement savings account.

It is important to note and state that an employee who retires under the age of 50 years in accordance with the terms and conditions of employment will not access the RSA until after six months of retirement, if he or she does not secure another employment.

Cases of embezzlement by personnel in charge of pension scheme management has attracted international embarrassment to nations where such corrupt practices have been reported to occur. Such action, has on record, led to the untimely death of many retirees that fell victims within the period of dashed hopes.
From the religious perspective , it is inhuman to cheat on people that have, over the years worked for their livelihood. This is more worrisome when there is an unwarranted delay in the payment of their gratuities as well as their pensions, such actions if left unaddressed may lead to people still in service to become kleptomaniacs for the fear of the future.
